The Saratov Сenter for study of organized crime and corruption was established under the agreement of The American University (Washington, USA) and The Saratov State Academy of Law.

The basic directions of The Saratov Center activity are:

¨ condition, features and tendency in organized crime and corruption development both in Russia and abroad;

¨ organized types of ecological crime and features of regional manifestation;

¨ shadow law and biased justice;

¨ organized crime in the sphere of author’s rights and adjacent rights;

¨ shadow-economy and its connection with organized crime and corruption;

¨ lobbying and using of electoral technologies as the ways to get authority in organized crime.

The main forms of The Saratov Center activity are:

¨ carrying out among scientists and students competitive examinations on getting stipend for exploitation the most interesting and useful ways of counteraction to organized crime and corruption as well specialized educational courses on this problem;

¨ carrying out debates and conferences on organized crime and corruption problem with practical law-employees participation;

¨ fulfilling Saratov and Samara regional media analysis of criminal news;

¨ summarizing sociological, statistic and other data on different types of organized crime and corruption;

¨ collecting and distributing materials and information about legislation, condition and problems of combating with organized crime and corruption in Russia and abroad.
